Father’s Day: Perfect Gifts For First-time Dads
Father’s Day is a day set aside to honour and celebrate the role of Fathers in our lives as well as the influence of fathers in society. This year, Father’s day fell on a weekend, today, 21 June 2020.
The most popular date for Father’s Day is the third Sunday in June. This date was first observed in the USA and has since been adopted by many countries.
Father’s day means a lot to first-time dads because it is the day their status changed. This day for first-time dads is a day that can’t be overlooked, you’ve got to make it a memorable one. They might deny that it is important to him but you are to make sure you make him feel special on that day.
Being a new parent, in general, is sacrificing your sleep and a lot of things. Men tend to feel insecure once their babies come in. They are tempted to think their wives no longer have time for them like they used to however it is not supposed to be so.
So your husband or man loves being a dad, but he loves you more. Losing all that pre-baby alone time with you is probably been a huge adjustment for him. One of the best gifts you can give him is to have a date night with him when the baby is asleep. You don’t necessarily need to go to a restaurant or something you could set up your bedroom or hall into an exclusive restaurant. Prepare him his favorite dish and lavish him with undivided attention, the way you did pre-parenthood.
It can be hard trying to care for your baby at the same time caring and appreciating your husband/ baby daddy. But you need to take some time off baby care and appreciate everything your guy is doing for you both. On this day, be sure to let him know how much you admire him and the wonderful job he is doing as a father. Write it out in a card, send a voice note, send a text message, or even tell it to his face how much you love him, to give it an extra boost of sincerity and staying power.
Chances are your guy works hard all week as you, and while he loves being a dad, he probably really misses the days when he could lounge in bed on Sunday mornings. So for Father’s Day weekend too, let him snooze as long as he wants. This would put him in the best mood he’s shown in a long time.
Finally, you could get a sticker with a photo of himself and the baby or just the baby, then place the sticker to the back of his phone, his mug, etc. He would love this, however, he might pretend he’s not planning on displaying how great he is as a dad, but he totally will, and do so proudly.
